Italian Reproduction Hoses are designed to work is with a taper type seal. If you look at the fittings below, you will see the taper towards the end of the fitting. The hose has an internal wound wire, similar to the outside wound wire that will accommodate the thread on the Ferrari fitting. There is no crimping or sealing compound used, the taper is the seal to keep the hose from leaking. These hoses can be replaced at home as long as the home mechanic does it carefully and patiently. We recommend that you give yourself some extra length, since most hoses have dried up and shrunk. You cannot use the original collars from the car, you will need the oversize collars we have below to fit the hose properly, since it is oversized on the O.D. per the originals.
Your Car and these hoses were never designed for a mixture of Gasoline and Additives, your area decides on the mixture. We recommend running Race Gas if possible that does not have these additives. Rubber is attacked by some of these additives, all Rubber seals, orings, etc can easily become destroyed. Try not to let the car sit, if you have no choice about the fuel choice, go drive your car every 2 weeks, exercise it. Fits Early Ferrari, Alfa Romeo, Lancia, and More.
